Small Shop, Big Impact: Huffman Machining
Join us as Chris shares Huffman Machining’s dedication to precision engineering, leaving a mark on the world of historic preservation. Chris’ childhood love for trains led him to find his own niche in machining, ultimately leading to the opening of a small shop in Newland, North Carolina. Each turn of the lathe and every cut of the mill tells a story, seamlessly bridging the past with the present.
Throughout his journey, Chris discovered a new passion: teaching. After graduating in the spring of 2020, job opportunities were scarce. However, he found an opportunity to teach at his trade school. Despite limited experience, he was able to impart his knowledge to both younger and older folks seeking a refresher. Even now, with his own shop thriving, he anticipates returning to the classroom, enthusiastically encouraging others to get into machining and help revive this dying art.
